With the growing number of internet-connected devices from computers to objects, there is an urgent need for more efficient ways to access, store, and transmit data, and that’s the basis of the Internet of Things (IoT).
Phathizwe Malinga is a faculty member at SingularityU South Africa, a platform that runs custom innovation, education, and impact programs to help others innovatively leverage rapidly accelerating technologies in solving some of Africa’s greatest challenges. He specializes in the Internet of Things as it relates to business. According to him, the utilization of IoT will generate data that helps companies make more informed decisions and create purposeful outcomes.
Malinga is also managing director at SqwidNet, the South African IoT service provider enhancing businesses’ ability to create innovative solutions by providing long-range, low-cost, low-power, and secure access to IoT solutions and operators in the country.
