TIBU Health Using Digital Tech to Mitigate the Impact of COVID-19

The COVID-19 outbreak has continued to take its toll on the world and has brought about several changes to societies and economies globally.

Due to the evolving pandemic, many people now steer clear of hospitals because of the fear of getting infected. Thus, the digital health community has been tasked with coming up with innovative solutions to provide distributed healthcare.

TIBU Health is one of the small players in the global advancement towards home-based medical treatment. The Kenyan startup's recently launched application coincided with the lockdown.

The TIBU app is a digital health platform that helps you find high quality, affordable medical care when and where needed. At the touch of a button, the app connects patients with medical practitioners in real-time.

Medical practitioners then travel to patients, equipped with medical kits to perform necessary tests and diagnosis. TIBU app is also linked to a lab partner in Nairobi that conducts lab tests when needed.

TIBU plans to expand all over Africa, starting with markets such as Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, and Rwanda. The core purpose of this on-demand platform is to make high quality and timely medical care available to everyone, regardless of location and income.
